Here's how to use them...

Step 1: Choose Appropriate Setup and Shade

The Instant Overdentures are available in six sizes (six pairs of upper and lower setups - which can be used together or individually - each with unique combinations of tooth molds selected for ideal occlusion and aesthetics), and each size is available in multiple shades (see Mold & Shade Guide for details).

Step 2: Heat Overdenture to Make It Moldable

Heat overdenture in a water bath (90-100°C for 2-3 minutes) until moldable. Hotter temperatures for longer times make the overdentures more moldable. Cooler temperatures for shorter times make them less moldable (which can be useful for making detailed, minor adjustments).

Step 3: Align, Position and Adapt Overdenture

Align and ideally position the overdenture on a model or directly in patient’s mouth.

They can be adjusted to accommodate a wide variety of arch widths, occlusal schemes, or existing dentition.

To trim flanges or make more space for implants, grind the overdentures as needed with an acrylic bur.

Step 4: Check Positioning

Check positioning, occlusal spacing, and midline. If further adjustments are needed, you can reheat entire overdenture or portion of overdenture you’d like to adjust.

Step 5: Reline and Place Overdenture

Reline with a cold- or light-cure material (e.g. Triad ®). Then place the overdenture back in the patient’s mouth to mold material to the implant abutments and ridge.

When satisfied with the results, just cure the reline material and place overdenture.

Good Fit ® Instant Overdentures can be produced in any of the A#-D# shades corresponding to the Vita ® Classical Shade Guide*.

We typically stock the more popular shades (e.g. A1, A2, and B1), with additional shades available for future or special orders. Please contact us for currently available shades or if you need additional shades.

* A#-D# correspond to the Vita ® Classical Shade Guide, which is meant to be a guide, not a match.

BASE SHADES

Good Fit ® Instant Overdentures are currently available in one base shade:

Pink Veined

(An approximation of DENTSPLY’s Lucitone 199® “Original” shade)

THE GOOD FIT ® TRANSPARENT SIZE-SELECTION GUIDE

On the next page, you will find a copy of a size-selection guide that, when printed, shows the actual arch size of each of the available sizes of Instant Overdentures.

We print it on a transparent sheet for you, so you can use it as follows:

Working with a model: just place the arches on the transparent guide over the arch of your model to choose the correct size

Working directly in the mouth: use a caliper or similar device to measure the arch size of the patient and then compare it to the arches on the transparent guide.

Remember, when selecting a size, you are looking only for the closest match - not necessarily a perfect match - because you will then be able to adapt the arch to get a more custom fit.
